"The Late Models ran their second main event of the night and Littleton's, Russell Clark nailed down his first NAPA, LMS feature event at WMMP. He did it in fine fashion, capturing the first triple crown of the season. Clark also collected wins in his heat and the bonus semi-feature. Clark was clinging to the top spot, when on lap 31, Mark Doggett, whom was running second at the time, tangled with another in turn four. Doggett's car turned right, careening head on into the front stretch wall, exploding into flames on the fronted of his racer. To top it off, the entire field was closing in. Everyone took evasive action, but unfortunately, Brian Mason slid sideways into Doggett's crippled racer. Luckily, everyone emerged from their vehicles with minor bumps and bruises. Doggett's racer was deemed a total loss. When the race went back to green, Clark jumped out front and never looked back".
